The Economic Value on the Services of Public Libraries

$50.00

In this study, Dr. Pearl M. Kamer, LIA Chief Economist, designs a methodology to measure the direct benefits to library users of public libraries in Suffolk County, New York. The result is a benefit-cost ratio that estimates the dollar value of benefits conferred by Suffolk County Public Libraries for every tax dollar invested in them. This methodology has already been replicated for individual libraries throughout Long Island.
